On Monday, August 8th, Realogy Corporation announced that it had sent a formal request for a White House Summit on Housing to President Barack Obama and his Administration.
In his letter, Realogy CEO Richard Smith stated, “Housing has an enormous impact on our nation’s GDP and given its substantial influence on all aspects of the economy, we believe it warrants special attention from the White House.”
He believes that bringing together top real estate professionals for a conversation on today’s market is necessary to create recommendations for sustainable growth and recovery in United States housing. Now more than ever, Smith thinks that it is time to bring these individuals together because their practical business experience may be the key to stimulating the real estate market.
How do you think a White House Summit on Housing would affect the current real estate market, especially that in Denver? Do you think that Obama and his Administration will give Smith’s request the proper attention it deserves? Leave a comment to share your thoughts and ideas!
